The present disclosure is related to a method to modify conjugated polymers obtained by crossed aldol condensation, using the hydroxylamine and/or hydrazine reaction to manipulate the resulting properties of photoluminescence, electroluminescence and solubility of the obtained material, being potentially suitable for use in the microelectronics and nanotechnology areas, as well as in optoelectronics, sensors and actuators, inter alia.
