An energy-generating device 41 has a drying device 43 for drying of wet biomass 44, as well as a thermal conversion device 45 for generating energy from dried biomass 46, and a heat exchanger 47 which with the heat produced by thermal conversion a heat transfer medium 49 is heated and this heat transfer medium is transferred to the drying apparatus where the heat in the heat transfer medium is used for the drying process. Molten salt or molten metal does herein as a heat transfer medium. The drying device has a superheated-steam-dryer 63, in which for the drying of the biomass required steam is heated by the heat transfer medium 49. An energy recovery system 61 provides for the recovery of energy from the water vapor which has arisen in the drying process. The thermal conversion apparatus is formed by a combustion boiler 53 is provided with a boiler wall 55 and an inside present combustion space 57. The bottom of the combustion boiler 43 is formed by a wervelbedverbrander 59.
