The method for the forensic assessment of the severity of injuries of the cervical spine in terms stato-locomotor function involves the analysis of the coordinated movements performed to detect vestibular disorders. After excluding vertebral fractures by X-ray diagnostic methods, the stabilography in upright body position is performed measuring the displacement of the common center of mass on the rest area of statograph in frontal (hF) and sagittal (hS) planes. The index of stato-locomotor adaptation is calculated as (CA=(h1+h2)/(h1+h2+h3), wherein h1 – the height of the trajectory of the displacement of the common center of mass at the first stage; h2 – the height of the trajectory of the displacement of the common center of mass at the second stage; h3 – the height of the trajectory of the displacement of the common center of mass at the third stage of the locomotive process. When 100×|hF/hS| ≥ 30.0 % and CA ≥ 0.9, the mild injury of the cervical backbone division is ascertained; 0.8≤CA0.9 suggests the moderate injury and CA0.8 – severe injury due to the impaired stato-locomotor function.
