The connectors are designed with alignment mechanisms to account forinitial misalignment of the battery and vehiclewhile still ensuring positive contact between them. The alignment mechanismsalso introduce compliance into the system to ensurethat the mechanical components of the system are not placed under unwantedloads or stresses. The connection system housesdata connectors carrying communication signals as well as power connectorscarrying high voltage electricity. The data connectorsare shielded to prevent interference caused by proximity to the high voltageelements. The connection system uses no mechanicallatching or locking mechanisms.
