The invention relates to a method of error detection of a flight managementsystem coupled with a guidance of an aircraft according to a flight plan,comprising the steps consisting in:-generating (101) a first reference guidance order (CG1com),-monitoring (102) the integrity of the first reference position (POS1com),-when the first reference position is not monitored as being dependable:*invalidating (103) the first FMS assembly (E-FMS1) and the associatedguidance system,- when the first reference position and the first reference trajectory aremonitored as being dependable:*generating (104) a first monitoring guidance order (CG1MON),*generating (105) a first reference flight control (CV1COM),*generating (106) a first monitoring flight control (CV1MON), in*monitoring (116) the integrity of the first reference guidance order(CG1COM)-when the first reference guidance order (CG1COM) is not monitored asbeing dependable:*invalidating the first FMS assembly (E-FMS1) and the associatedguidance.
