Provided are a partial discharge detection method, a partial discharge detection device, a partial discharge detection system, a power apparatus for which partial discharge detection was performed using the foregoing, and a power apparatus manufacturing method including the partial discharge detection method. The partial discharge detection method can carry out notification of how much time is left until insulation breakdown is reached, at the time of a lightning impulse withstand-voltage test. A low-pass filter (13) receives an acoustic signal that was obtained by an acoustic sensor (6) and that is generated as a consequence of the application of impulse voltage, and thereby removes electromagnetic noise which was superimposed onto the acoustic signal. On the basis of an examination target-apparatus mechanical vibration component which was obtained beforehand and which appears in an acoustic signal when a low-voltage impulse voltage is applied, a mechanical vibration removal unit (15) removes a mechanical vibration component from an acoustic signal generated when a high-voltage impulse voltage is applied. A partial discharge detection unit (11) detects whether partial discharge has occurred in the detection target-apparatus on the basis of the acoustic signal which was generated at the time of high-voltage application and from which the mechanical vibration component was removed. A margin determination unit (12) determines the margin beyond which the detection target-apparatus reaches insulation breakdown, such determination made on the basis of the characteristic amount of a partial discharge signal obtained beforehand.
