A depth of field adjusting method for a binocular AR head-mounted device, comprising: acquiring the distance (dis) from a target object to human eyes (204); making the distance (Ln) from a virtualized image formed by an optical system from effective display information to the human eyes (204) equivalent to the distance (dis) from the target object to the human eyes (204), acquiring, on the basis of the distance (Ln) from the virtualized image to the human eyes (204) and of a preset distance mapping relation (δ), a corresponding equivalent center distance (dn) of both left and right effective display information; and, displaying respectively on left and right image display sources (201a and 201b), on the basis of the equivalent center distance (dn), an information source image of virtual information that needs to be displayed. Conventional depth of field adjustments start by changing the image distance of an optical component; the present method obviates the need for changing the structure of the optical component and implements depth of field adjustment by adjusting the equivalent center distance (dn) of both the left and right effective display information on the image display sources (201), thus providing further practicability. Also disclosed is a binocular AR head-mounted device.
