The present invention relates to a wireless meter reading system using a PDA terminal and, more particularly, to a control process for meter reading using a PDA terminal of a meter reader and meter reading terminals installed in each consumer's premises, and a method for meter reading data transmission from the meter reading terminal to the PDA terminal. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a wireless meter reading system using a terminal, which employs a multi-meter reading function, wherein the wireless meter reading system switches meter reading terminals existing within an area defined by a predetermined distance from a current location of a PDA terminal means to an operation mode in advance before meter reading by successively transmitting a request for a meter reading preparation time to the meter reading terminals, so that a meter reading data request and meter reading data transmission in response thereto can be performed for each meter reading terminal, and thus can reduce the time required for wireless meter reading.
