The present invention relates to a method for preparing a material made from sulfur-doped titanium dioxide (S-TiO2), to the material made from sulfur-doped TiO2 able to be obtained by said method, to the use of such a material as a photocatalyst, in particular in heterogeneous photocatalysis under ultraviolet (UV) radiation and/or in the visible light region, in particular for decontaminating gaseous or liquid media of organic pollutants, and to a method for decontaminating gaseous or liquid media implementing such a photocatalyst under ultraviolet (UV) radiation and/or in the visible light region.
