An optical element manufacturing method according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: acquiring first and second monochrome images that are obtained by irradiating an original image with light beams of first and second wavelength ranges; irradiating the first and second monochrome images with light beams; adjusting the spectra of first and second projection light beams obtained by light irradiation so that the first and second projection light beams have mutually different light spectra; displaying a composite projection image of the first and second projection light beams; acquiring reference light intensities M and N of the first and second projection light beams; acquiring light intensities X and Y of the first and second projection light beams which satisfy a predetermined condition when a subject looks at the composite projection image; and manufacturing an optical element provided with a first optical component that adjusts the intensity of light beams of the first wavelength range on the basis of the reference light intensity M and the light intensity X, and a second optical component that adjusts the intensity of light beams of the second wavelength range on the basis of the reference light intensity N and the light intensity Y.
