A workshop layout method for a discrete manufacturing system, specifically comprising the following steps: a system UI layer, inputting workshop equipment and production information to a layout design platform; a model establishing layer, separately establishing an inter-line equipment distribution mathematic model, an inline equipment ranking mathematic model, an inter-process batch dividing mathematic model and a layout scheme performance evaluation model according to the input workshop information; a workshop layout optimization subsystem; and a workshop layout design result evaluation and display module. A user sends a layout design scheme to a server through module permission, and a workshop management staff executes an optimization result. The method avoids the disadvantage of reduction of the overall performance of a workshop layout due to the fact that only the blocking layout of a processing station in common layout optimization is considered; and meanwhile, under the situation of a plurality of front process devices and a plurality of rear process devices, optimal distribution of task quantity among devices is considered, and the logistics transportation quantity is further reduced by utilizing third-stage optimization.
