MRI/MRA Method of Region Of Interest Selection and System using characteristics of MRI/MRA

A method of selecting a region of interest in an MRI / MRA image and a system applying the same are provided. The method for selecting a region of interest according to an embodiment of the present invention selects candidate regions of interest based on the signal intensity of the image and extracts the regions of interest of interest from the selected regions of interest based on the signal intensity gradient of the image. This makes it possible to more easily select a desired region of interest (for example, a blood vessel or a cerebral infarction), and to select a desired region of interest more faithfully without losing it to the peripheral region (e.g., the vessel wall region).
