The present invention relates to a novel polypeptide which can bind to complement protein C5a. More particularly, the present invention relates to: a polypeptide which binds to complement protein C5a and can suppress the activity thereof; to a polynucleotide which codes the polypeptide; to a recombinant vector which comprises the polynucleotide; to a recombinant microorganism to which the recombinant vector is introduced; to a production method of the polypeptide using the recombinant microorganism; and to a pharmaceutical composition comprising the polypeptide for treating immunopathy or septicemia. The polypeptide of the present invention can bind to complement protein C5a and can suppress the activity thereof, which has affinity higher than a complement protein C5a acceptor existing in nature. Therefore, the polypeptide of the present invention can be widely applied to develop drugs for preventing or treating diseases related to complement protein C5a.
