According to a face recognition system and a face recognition method based on a keypoint descriptor matching and a majority vote method of the present invention, a keypoint descriptor is extracted from an input face image and a registered face image, and compares the keypoint descriptors, and it is determined whether a recognized face is a face of a registered user using the majority vote method, thus face recognition can be more accurately performed in a faster manner.
