The present invention relates to an anticancer composition containing an integral membrane protein 2A (ITM2A) polypeptide as an active ingredient. More specifically, the present invention relates to an anticancer composition containing a nucleic acid encoding ITM2A polypeptide as an active ingredient. The ITM2A polypeptide contained as the active ingredient is capable of inhibiting autophagy, and thus can be applied to effectively eradicate cancer cells. Thus, the composition of the present invention can effectively eradicate cancer cells by making cancer cells susceptible to an anticancer drug by inhibiting autophagy.
