The present invention relates to an image-based hovering control device for a small flight vehicle. According to the present invention, the image-based hovering control device for a small flight vehicle uses a battery as a motion power source and senses location information and motion information using an inertia sensor and controls hovering of a small flight vehicle. The image-based hovering control device also controls the hovering motion of a small flight vehicle. The image-based hovering control device includes: a camera mounted on the small flight vehicle; and an application processor unit extracting a borderline in a predetermined area by obtaining an image photographed in the camera in real time and controlling location correction and hovering motion by comparing and analyzing the borderline in a fixed time cycle. Therefore, the present invention provides an image-based hovering control device for a small flight vehicle, which can accurately control the posture of the small flight vehicle in flight by tracking the borderline at the predetermined area extracted from the image which the camera of the small flight vehicle photographs in real time even if the hovering control device does not have an absolute-type sensor such as a geomagnetic sensor.
