Disclosed are a microfluidic device capable of screening strains having excellent carbon dioxide fixing efficiency and growth by using chemotaxis, and a method for screening strains having excellent carbon dioxide fixing efficiency and growth by using chemotaxis. A microfluidic device capable of screening strains having excellent carbon dioxide fixing efficiency and growth by using chemotaxis according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a main channel; a culture medium and cell feeding unit connected with one end part of the main channel, and feeding a first culture medium having organic carbon sources removed therefrom, a second culture medium having bicarbonate ions dissolved therein, and a suspension including cells into the main channel; and a culture medium and a cell discharging unit connected with the other end part of the main channel, and discharging the first culture medium, the second culture medium, and the suspension which move along a length direction of the main channel. The first culture medium, the second culture medium, and the suspension constitute layers, move along a length direction of the main channel, and are diffused along a width direction of the main channel in a region adjacent to the culture medium and the cell discharging unit of the main channel, so a concentration gradient of bicarbonate ions is produced.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
