An aspect of the present invention relates to a photovoltaic charger which has a function of compensating for fixation of permissible input charging current fixed due to intensity variation of incident sunlight. The photovoltaic charger includes: a photovoltaic cell panel which comprises one or more photovoltaic cell modules and generates electric power by converting incident solar energy into electric energy; a power adjusting unit which receives an input of the generated power output from the photovoltaic cell panel, regulates the generated power to power with voltage required for a portable terminal and outputs the regulated output power; a power output I/F which receives the output power with the regulated voltage, outputted from the power adjusting unit, inputs the output power as charging power via a charging terminal of the portable terminal and provides an interface for the input of the charging power; an output power detecting unit which detects the voltage of the output power with the regulated voltage; and a control unit which controls the operation of the power adjusting unit and the power output I/F, calculates the output current value of the output power according to the voltage detected by the output power detecting unit and resets the power adjusting unit accordingly. The control unit transmits a reset control signal to the power adjusting unit when the calculated output current value is lower than a preestablished current value. The power adjusting unit which receives the reset control signal interrupts the output of the regulated output power.
