ANTIBACTERIAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING ETHYL ACETATE FRACTION OF SIPJEONDAEBO-TANG (CHINESE MEDICINE) WITH 11 MEDICINAL HERBS

The present invention relates to an antibacterial composition containing an ethyl acetate fraction of Sipjeondaebo-tang (named Daebo-tang) with 11 medicinal herbs, and more specifically, to a multipurpose antibacterial composition containing, as an active ingredient, an ethyl acetate fraction among fractions which are obtained by sequentially fractionating a hydrothermal extract of Sipjeondaebo-tang with 11 medicinal herbs by an organic solvent to separately prepare an hexene fraction, an ethyl acetate fraction, a butanol fraction, and the remainder of water. As verified in an embodiment of the present invention, the antibacterial composition containing, as an active ingredient, an ethyl acetate fraction of Sipjeondaebo-tang with 11 medicinal herbs, exhibits greatly strong antibacterial activity against various Gram positive bacteria and Gram negative bacteria. An ethyl acetate fraction of Sipjeondaebo-tang with 11 medicinal herbs is an active ingredient of the antibacterial composition in the present invention, does not show acute oral toxicity, has excellent thermal stability, and maintains antibacterial activity even under the acidic condition of pH 2 and in plasma. Accordingly, the antibacterial composition can be prepared in various forms of extract, powder, a pill, a tablet, etc., and is thus greatly practically used for an antibacterial agent involved in pharmaceutical industry and food industry.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
