Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for controlling a thermal gradient for studying thermoperiodicity of organisms. According to the present invention includes: a polymeric gel block part; a plurality of thermoelement parts formed on an outer side of the polymeric gel block part and heating and cooling so as to create a spatial thermal gradient in the polymeric gel block; and a proportional integral derivative (PID) thermocontroller controlling a temperature of the thermoelement parts.
