SNOW 3G INSTRUCTION FOR ACCELERATING SNOW 3G WIRELESS SECURITY ALGORITHM

The vector instructions for performing SNOW 3G wireless security operations are received and executed by the execution circuit of the processor. The execution circuit receives a first operand of a first instruction specifying a first vector register storing the current state of the finite state machine (FSM). The execution circuit also receives a second operand of a first instruction specifying a second vector register storing data elements of a linear feedback shift register (LFSR) required to update the FSM. The execution circuit executes a first instruction to produce an updated state of the FSM and an output of the FSM at a destination operand of the first instruction.
