The present invention relates to a method for predicting battery performance by two-dimensional modeling of a lithium ion secondary battery. For the application of the developed model, the effects of particle coating and conductive agent on electrode conductivity and efficiency were studied. Both particle coatings and conductive agents appeared to be effective in improving the conductivity, while uniformly distributed conductive agents were found to significantly improve electrode conductivity as well as electrical conductivity.
