Method involves determination of peroxidase activity in plant tissue and identification of its correlation with degree of veining. Peroxidase activity is determined in plants birch with signs of blotchness aged ≥ 15 years in period of active cambial growth in xylary tissue in oxidation of guaiacol at pH 4.8.
