A method for the production of ceramic foams based on aqueous ceramic suspensions and from deforming resin-based foams by means of microwave radiation by heating under foaming and crosslinking of a foam-forming material (28) in the form of a solution or dispersion containing a blowing agent comprising:– Application of the material (28) to a web,– Heating of the material (28) with at least temporary irradiation with microwave with foaming, during movement of the web through a first microwave chamber (12),– Heating the foamed material (28) with at least temporary irradiation with microwaves under fixing of the cell structure formed during foaming of the material during the moving of the web by one of the first microwave chamber (12) downstream second microwave chamber (16),– Heating of the fixed material (28) with at least temporary irradiation with microwave by breaking open the cell structure of the material and produce a foam during the passage of the web by one of the second microwave chamber (16) is connected downstream of the third microwave chamber (20) and– Heating or keeping warm of the foam under at least temporary irradiation with microwaves under finalem curing of the foam during the passage of the web by one of the third microwave chamber (20) is connected downstream of the further chamber or one of these downstream discharge channel (22),wherein, in the further chamber or in the discharge channel (22) in the transport direction into the two spaced positions at least two micro shafts absorber hoods (156, 158; 160, 162) are provided, by means of balancing of the absorbed power levels at the two positions along the conveying direction on the remaining water content in the material (28) is closed.
