Production of vanadyl sulfate of vanadium pentoxide

The present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of a vanadyl. In particular, the manufacture of a vanadyl starting from in the water and an acid suspended vanadium pentoxide and its reduction to the vanadyl with a mild reducing agent described. Further process steps to obtain a purified vanadyl, are proposed.
