The method for producing a liquid phase sintered aluminum alloy member comprises a compacting step for compacting a raw material powder comprising an aluminum alloy powder having at least one element selected from Si, Mg, Cu and Zn to form a green compact, the balance being formed of Al and unavoidable impurities; a sintering step in which the green compact is subjected to liquid phase sintering to form a sintered body; a softening step in which the sintered body is subjected to a heat treatment to form a softened material; a straightening step in which the softened material is sized to form a straightened material; and an aging step in which the straightened material is subjected to a heat treatment to form an aged material in which precipitates are formed.
