PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road surface finishing machine comprising wheel which may be driven and a method for controlling such road surface finishing machine, in which improvement in driving of the road surface finishing machine has been made.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for controlling a road surface finishing machine comprising a material bunker for charging pavement material, a screed pressing the pavement material to be fixed, and rear wheels which may be driven and front wheels which may be driven. In step 110, slipping of each rear wheel is obtained from rotation speed of the rear wheel and moving speed of the road surface finishing machine. In step 120, drive torque actually conducted to the rear wheel from stored record data in a manner concerning the slipping of the rear wheel is read out. In step 130, target drive torque for the front wheels is set. In step 140, actual drive torque of at least one front wheel is adjusted to calculated target drive torque.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
