PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and highly accurate diagnostic method for chronic pyoderma, the method being capable of accurately classifying (distinguishing) chronic pyoderma and acne, and to provide a diagnostic kit for chronic pyodermia, the kit being used in such a method.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there are provided a method for diagnosing chronic pyoderma and a diagnostic kit for chronic pyoderma. Here, Dermacoccus bacteria in a sample collected from the subject's skin, preferably from the skin of the face, head, or buttocks are detected using methods such as PCR or next generation sequencing analysis. Then, the presence or absence of Dermacoccus bacteria and the increased level of abundance ratio thereof are used as indicators to diagnose whether or not the subject suffers from chronic pyoderma. In addition, a decrease in the divergence of bacterial flora in the sample is used as an index to diagnose whether or not the subject suffers from chronic pyoderma.SELECTED DRAWING: None
