PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for designing a peptide vaccine design or designing an immunogen to produce an antibody against an epitope having an arbitrary sequence (in particular, an epitope which is very difficult to induce antibodies in vitro).SOLUTION: According to the present invention, a method for designing an immunogen to produce an antibody comprises a step of constructing a library of short peptides. Here, each peptide comprises a plurality of fixed amino acid residues and a plurality of randomized amino acid residues. The fixed amino acid residue determines the specificity of the antibody produced.
