PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating motile sperms, which can efficiently separate motile sperms.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there is provided a method for separating motile sperms. The method comprises: allowing a narrow buffer-flowing channel and a sperm-running channel to be communicated with a pre-selection sperm reservoir; and selecting motile sperms having high motility by rheotaxis phenomenon via the sperm-running channel. According to the present invention, an aggregation area of sperms in high density is formed on the vicinity of the proximal communication base end of the sperm-running channel to prepare the environment for preparation before the occurrence of the rheotaxis phenomenon. The buffer-flowing channel is branched into a bifurcated shape from the base end. The tip end portions of the bifurcated branch flow channels of the buffer-flowing channel are gradually narrowed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
