PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a candidate character string extraction method capable of reducing a risk of information leakage by presenting input candidates when inputting a character or a character string.SOLUTION: The candidate character string extraction method includes the steps of: receiving an input of a character or a character string and pieces of identification information of an input source of the character or the character string; referring to a storage unit 112 storing candidate character strings associating a reading and a piece of identification information; extracting a candidate character string, which is associated with both of the received character or the character string and the identification information in the candidate character strings; and outputting the extracted candidate character string as a selection candidate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
