PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound, composition, and method for the study, diagnosis, and treatment of traits, diseases and conditions that respond to the modulation of cadherin-binding protein β1(CTNNB1) gene expression and/or activity, and/or modulate a β-catenin gene expression pathway.;SOLUTION: The present invention provides a double-stranded nucleic acid molecule that is capable of mediating or that mediates RNA interference (RNAi) against CTNNB1 gene expression, examples of such a molecule including, for example, a double stranded short interfering nucleic acid (siNA) having a specific nucleotide sequence.
