PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color gamut cross section acquisition method, color gamut cross section acquisition program, and color gamut cross section acquisition device with which the difference between an actual cross section obtained by cutting a color gamut of an image forming apparatus with a specific plane and a cross section to be acquired can be suppressed.SOLUTION: A color gamut cross section acquisition method for acquiring a cross section by cutting a color gamut of an MFP with a specific plane includes the steps of: acquiring a color gamut boundary segment to be a reference of a boundary in the color gamut, acquiring intersections of the color gamut boundary segment and the specific plane as end points of a cross section boundary segment to be references of a boundary in the cross section, and acquiring a cyclic path so that a cyclic path passing through all the end points on the cross section boundary segment only once becomes shortest (S192); acquiring a segment forming the acquired cyclic path as a cross section temporary boundary segment (S193); acquiring a segment for verification connecting a plane intersecting with the cross section temporary boundary segment at a point other than the end points with the color gamut boundary segment (S198); and when the segment for verification intersects with the cross section temporary boundary segment (YES in S199), acquiring the cross section temporary boundary segment as the cross section boundary segment (S200).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17
