Refining method of molten iron by converter smelting furnace

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten iron refining method by a converter type vessel which is effective to make refining slag produced in a refining treatment of molten iron suitable for diversified applications, e.g. land applications.SOLUTION: In conducting a refining treatment of molten iron by using a converter type refining furnace, the density of the slag in the refining furnace is adjusted by changing the generation rate of CO gas generated in the converter type refining furnace during the refining treatment so as to yield an intended density of the slag discharged out of the refining furnace after the refining treatment.
