PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake blocking gate device for automatically performing intake amount control and preventing excess intake, while implementing simplification of a mechanism for opening/closing an intake.SOLUTION: An intake blocking gate device 1 comprises: a blocking gate 10 for opening/closing an intake provided in a river to perform introduction and blocking of water in the river to a water channel for making water flow in a hydraulic power plant; a support body in a frame shape for supporting the blocking gate 10 so as to be freely slidable and movable in a vertical direction; a lock unit 12 for keeping the intake in an open state by positioning the blocking gate 10 above the intake, in a lock state; a float 20 floating on a water surface of the river; and a link unit 22 for canceling the lock state of the lock unit 12 when the float 20 has reached a predetermined height as a water surface position in the river rises, where the blocking gate 10 falls to close the intake gate 10 in the case that the lock state is canceled.
