PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a space required when a core is handled and to prevent a surface of the core from receiving damage.SOLUTION: A transport device for a core for casting a tube comprises: a traversing means 2 for traversing a core 1 in a state such that an axial direction of the core is directed in a vertical direction; a stage 12 for receiving the core 1 from the traversing means 2; an operation means 20 for rotating the stage 12 while maintaining the core 1 placed on the stage 12; and an arc-shaped retainer 11 which contacts a circumference of the core 1 and retains the core 1 in a state that the axial direction of the core 1 is directed in a lateral direction by rotation of the stage 12. Further, the retainer 11 retains the core 1 also during rotation of the stage 12. Retainers 11, 31 are equipped with first holding parts 11a, 31a contacting the circumference of a cylindrical part 1a of the core 1, and second holding parts 11b, 31b contacting the circumference of a flange part 1b of the core 1.
