PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a penetration type lateral load test method and a penetration type lateral load test device that eliminate the need for heavy equipment such as a high-pressure gas cylinder like a dilatometer construction method, facilitate weight reduction and operation, catch a delicate change in the depth direction of the ground, and can obtain substantially continuous ground information speedily only by causing a resistor to penetrate.SOLUTION: A penetration type lateral load test method is characterized by obtaining continuous ground information in the depth direction by mounting a resistor on the tip of a rod and making the rod penetrate into the ground. The penetration type lateral load test method is configured by: forming a perpendicular plane in opposed upper and lower parts; mounting the measuring instruments such as an earth pressure gauge or a pore water pressure gauge on the perpendicular planes of the top and bottom surface parts, respectively; forming a convex between the top and bottom surface parts through a gentle gradient; using the resistor mounting the measuring instruments such as the earth pressure gauge or the pore water pressure gauge on the convex; and performing a load test of various displacement control with the measuring instruments such as the earth pressure gauge or the pore water pressure gauge mounted on the perpendicular planes of the upper and lower parts and the convex by causing the resistor to penetrate in the ground.
