PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building insulation material that can be easily bent and inserted between supporting members in the insulation construction, and at the same time, exhibits good holding power by the compressive stress sufficient to the supporting members after the insulation construction, and also is superior in thermal insulation performance.SOLUTION: Grooves 11a, 11b parallel in a longitudinal direction of a plate-like insulation plate 10 and having a width of 2 mm or less on the surface and the back side of a plate-like insulation material 10 by multiple pieces are formed at equal intervals P of 30 mm or less so that a length C where the groove 11a overlaps with the groove 11b becomes 50% or more of a depth D of the grooves 11a, 11b.
