Disclosed is a niobium-silicide-based composite material which comprises particulate niobium crystals (1), a compound phase (3) containing niobium silicide and a stripe- or dot-like niobium phase dispersed in the compound phase (3), and contains a lamellar structure (2) composed of the compound phase (3) and the niobium phase. Thus, it becomes possible to produce an alloy composite material having all of excellent heat resistance, strength, toughness and ductility.
