One system and one method of data transmission includes a network coordinator and a node. The node is configured to run a schedule that can be a default schedule or can be a schedule received from the network coordinator. The schedule includes a waking period and a rest period. The node is configured for passive listening to network coordinator commands during the waking period and not to hear network coordinator commands during the rest period.
