This is an integrated wlan / wwan architecture, where the signaling used to control the integration of the wlan / wwan architecture is accomplished through the radio resource control plan ("rrc"). The integrated architecture can provide a network-controlled structure for performing traffic routing and radio resource management. Additionally, according to the disclosure provided in this document, the integrated architecture can interoperate with legacy systems (for example, architectures that do not support the integrated wlan / wwan architecture).
