摘要
ABSTRACT Cold drawing process is one of the most used metals forming process within the industrial field like making of seamless tubes. Cold drawing is plastic deformation of metals below the recrystallization temperature and is generally performed at room temperature. When metal is cold worked, upon release of forming force the material has a tendency to partially return to its original size because of elastic energy stored in the part during forming product. This is called spring back. This work aims at predicting and minimizing the influence of land width on springback in cold drawing of c-45 tube material. Experiments are conducted with different land widths viz. 5 mm, 10 mm, 15 mm and 20 mm. the optimum condition that results in minimum springback is identified. The purpose of this work is to present optimized land width for rectangular seamless tubes. The result of this research is that 10 mm is optimum land width for least spingback. This can be used to help design of tools in the metal forming industry to minimize springback and improve the quality of the product. Following invention is described in detail with the help of Figure 1 of sheet 1 showing rectangular die, Figure 2 of sheet 1 showing rectangular die with notations and Figure 5 of sheet 3 showing assembly.
