This mechanism is provided on the side of the center console pilot side. During lowering of collective, the pilot experiences a momentary feei at a particular percentage (22 % of collective lever travel from the lower most position). Whenever collective lever dumping is resorted to, like in the case of autorotation, rotor speed may exceed the limit, if not monitored. This system acts as warning in such situations. While lowering the collective lever, the movement of the lever is stopped at particular position by spring-loaded pin of this mechanism. By over coming spring force, lever can be further lowered down to low pitch position. This low pitch results in negative thrust which is useful for slope landing / ship deck landing to keep the helicopter pressed to the landing area. While raising the lever this mechanism does,not stop the lever movement because the wedge slips off from the spring-loaded pin. This patent has 2 claims.
