摘要
Processes developed for chlorination of glycerol with removing water generated in reaction mixture as well as without removing water generated in reaction mixture using reusable heterogeneous catalyst comprise tungsten, aluminium, zirconium metal oxides supported on hexagonal mesoporous silica. Processes for chlorination of glycerol with removing water generated in reaction mixture carried out in reactive distillation assembly and without removing water in pressure vessel at superatmospheric pressure of HCI gas. Various parameters such as catalyst loading, HCI gas flow rate has been studied for chlorination of glycerol. The process gives 99% glycerol conversion with 71% selectivity towards 1,3-dichloropropanol.
