A method for producing a phthalocyanine series pigment crude product, the method comprising: a step (1) of reacting one or more compounds (A) selected from the group consisting of urea, ammonium carbonate-based salts and ammonia, one or more compounds (B) selected from the group consisting of phthalic acid, phthalic acid derivatives, phthalic anhydride, phthalic anhydride derivatives, phthalimide and phthalimide derivatives, and a metal salt (C), and a step (2) of bringing the reaction product obtained in step (1) into contact with a hydroxide, wherein at least a portion of a gas containing nitrogen compounds that is generated in steps (1) and (2) is fed into a trapping container filled with an acid aqueous solution, and the nitrogen compounds contained within the gas are trapped as ammonium acid salts.
