TETRAPYRROLIC COMPOUND WITH APPLICATIONS IN THERANOSTICS AND PROCESS FOR PREPARING THE SAME

The invention relates to a tetrapyrrolic compound with applications in diagnosis and therapy of solid tumours and to a process for preparing the same. According to the invention, the compound is 5,15-bis-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-10,20-bis-(4-carboxymethylphenyl)porphirine, presented as purple crystals which are insoluble in water and soluble in methylene chloride, ethyl alcohol, isoproyl alcohol, dimethyl sulphoxide, polyethylene glycol 200 and, due to its properties, it can simultaneously achieve solid tumours diagnosis and therapy. The preparation process, as claimed by the invention, comprises the interaction, under the action of microwaves, of a mixture consisting of 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde, methyl-4-formyl benzoate and pyrrole on a neutral aluminium oxide carrier, the dissolution of the resulting product in dichloromethane/ethyl ether, filtration and concentration of the said solution by distillation, followed by the purification of the asymmetrical tetrapyrrolic compound by chromatography.
