The invention relates to a process for the treatment of a municipal and/orindustrial wastewater with a view tocombating the endocrine disrupting effect and/or the toxic effect and/or thegenotoxic effect thereof and to remove the pathogenicmicroorganisms therefrom, comprising a step of oxidation via ozone and a stepof disinfection via UV radiation with a wavelengthbetween 185 and 350 nm, characterized in that said ozone oxidation step iscarried out in a static mixer at a low dose of ozonebelow the ozone demand of said water, in that said ozone oxidation step isimmediately followed by said UV-radiationdisinfection step, and in that it comprises a step of controlling said dose ofozone used in said water during said oxidation step thatincludes the measurement of at least one parameter that is representative ofthe quality of the water, said measurement beingcarried out on the water to be treated and/or on the water that has undergonesaid ozone oxidation step and before its UV-radiationdisinfection, said step of controlling said dose of ozone aiming to keep itbetween 0.05 and 0.5 milligrams of ozone per milligramof COD.
