A vehicle auxiliary device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a sensor for measuring an alcohol concentration and outputting the measured alcohol concentration; and a processor for controlling a vehicle by performing drunk driving validation on the basis of an alcohol concentration sensed through the sensor, wherein the processor performs a first drunk driving validation according to an alcohol concentration sensed through the sensor before starting the vehicle, and further performs a second drunk driving validation according to an alcohol concentration sensed through the sensor during running of the vehicle.
