The present invention relates to a method for detecting miRNA-206 for diagnosis or prognostic analysis of mood disorders, a method for providing information for diagnosis of mood disorders, and a composition for targeting miRNA-206. More specifically, the present invention enables the marker for diagnosis or prognostic analysis of mood disorders to be detected, enables a more accurate diagnosis of mood disorders by measuring the expression level of miR-206 in a tissue sample of a patient, provides, as a composition for diagnosis, a preparation enabling the expression level of miR-206 to be measured and, furthermore, provides a pharmaceutical composition enabling mood disorders to be treated and prevented by using an oligonucleotide capable of complementarily binding to microRNA-206.
