Disclosed are a method for operating an Internet of thing (IoT) entity to process a series of transactions, having an association, in accordance with a predetermined sequence, the configuration of a communication node, and an IoT using the same. The IoT for processing a series of associated transactions may be configured to include: an application entity which stores a plurality of conditions and associated rules required for triggering of the series of associated transactions, and which transfers a processing request message for the series of associated transactions when an event satisfying at least some of the plurality of conditions and associated rules occurs; and a common service entity which processes the series of associated transactions based on information included in the processing request message, and which transfers the results of the processing of the transactions to the application entity.
